Engaging with new people from various backgrounds has taught me the value of empathy and open-mindedness, challenged my preconceptions and enriched my understanding of the world. This experience has pushed me out of my comfort zone.
I think this experience has changed me to become a better version of myself. The enlightenment it has brought me is endless but if I were to take one takeaway is that “You can do It!”.
Studying film at AUC has gifted me a unique lens through which I was able to perceive Edinburgh's beauty. It taught me to appreciate the subtle details, the play of light, and listen to the untold stories concealed in the walls of this city.
It was an integral part of my academic journey here at AUC in several aspects, like global perspective, cultural exchange, language skills and personal growth.
I feel very lucky and grateful for the study-abroad experience. It helped me figure out what I want and need in my life and career, as well as how I wish to pursue my academic work. Travel makes you aware of your true likes and preferences when you are on your own. It teaches one to have more empathy and understanding of differences.
