Center for Student Well-Being: IACS Accreditation
IACS’s rigorous accreditation process involves detailed documentation, a comprehensive site visit evaluation, and multiple peer reviews in five areas: relationships within the college/university community, counseling and clinical services, ethical standards, personnel, and resources/infrastructure.
The CSW was evaluated by IACS and was found to offer competent and reliable professional services to its clientele. Approval by IACS is also dependent upon evidence of continuing professional development as well as demonstration of excellence of counseling performance.
About CSW
The mission of the Center for Student Well-Being (CSW) is to help students enhance their academic and personal well-being and to accommodate the needs of students with documented disabilities. CSW helps students develop resiliency to enable them to cope with challenges on the emotional, behavioral, or cognitive levels. It also works to raise awareness among the AUC community about the types of challenges and disabilities that a percentage of the student body deals with so that they better understand and empathize with students experiencing difficulties and receiving care. In addition, CSW provides targeted outreach messages of well-being to the AUC community and consultation and education to faculty and staff to assist them in addressing the psychological needs of the student community. CSW offers prevention, intervention, information, and referral services to all AUC students.
The CSW served 13% of AUC’s student body through 4867 total counseling sessions during the period spanning from June 1, 2022, to May 31, 2023.
