Ms. Nora Abousteit is an entrepreneur and author. In 2006, she founded BurdaStyle, the largest online sewing community in the world. In 2012, she founded Kollabora, a multi-craft and style destination for crafters and founded CraftJam in 2017, which brings neuroplasticity and crafting to corporations and individuals. She is the author of two books The BurdaStyle Sewing Handbook and BurdaStyle Sewing Vintage Modern. Her column about her experiences as an entrepreneur appeared in the Wall Street Journal in 2012 - 2013. Raised in Germany, Abousteit is German-Egyptian and graduated from The American University of Cairo, where she now sits on the board of directors. She lives in Shanghai with her husband and daughter.
