Ms. Shahira Diab earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from The American University in Cairo in 1998. Soon afterward, she joined La Poire for Touristic Enterprises as a board coordinator and assistant to the general manager. In 2003, Diab assumed the role of La Poire’s general manager and led the brand’s transformation, evolving it from a 20-shop pastry chain to a well-rounded food service establishment and a retail group of companies. The group’s activities include food production and service to convenience stores and fuel retailing. La Poire Group currently operates more than 170 retail points across Egypt and two production facilities, supported by over 3,600 employees. In 1998, Diab attended the EFG-Hermes Finance and Investment Appraisal course, and in 2008, she obtained her MBA from the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland. She is also a regular attendee of management courses at Harvard Business School and London Business School. Diab has been a member of YPO, formerly Young Presidents’ Organization, since 2007 and served on the Cairo board in various positions, including chapter chair in 2019.
