Mr. Wael Bayazid is chairman, Middle East at Nuveen Investment Management, which he joined in 2022 to help expand its institutional business in the region. Before joining Nuveen Investment Management, Bayazid was managing director and partner at The Carlyle Group, working to develop businesses in the Middle East and Europe. Prior to that, he was global country head for Saudi Arabia in the Global Asset Management Group of the Chase Manhattan Bank, based in Geneva, Switzerland. He has an extensive history of working in the banking and financial sector. He is currently the vice chair of ABANA (Arab Bankers Association of North America), a U.S. organization for finance professionals and institutions with an interest in the Middle East and North Africa.
