About

The custom clearance unit is established to provide professional clearing and shipping services that support The American University in Cairo's (AUC) departments, faculty, staff, and students in the academic researches. The unit serves as a liaison between the University and other parties such as clearing agents, shipping lines, customs and governmental authorities to successfully release AUC shipments.

Mission

To provide an effortless experience to import export AUC academic needs without compromising on quality and efficiency.

The unit has skilled staff and contracted with expert agents to smoothly release the shipment and assure that an effective environment is maintained throughout the logistics process. The services are customized to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations in compliance with AUC integrity and ethics. The unit work diligently to ensure that requirements are met and strive to assist AUC community with managing the risks involved and improving efficiencies in our processes, with emphasis on a thorough understanding of regulations. In addition, enhancing our operations to meet with AUC community needs, and process efficiencies as well as interpretation of customs laws and regulations. The unit is also responsible for following up with AUC's exempted shipments and supervise periodical customs exemption inspections to AUC.

  • Develop and train the logistics team to cope with any new custom regulations
