I write to share with you the news of the retirement of Ayman Abdellatif, senior vice president for administration, planning and transformation, effective August 1, 2021.
Since joining AUC in 2019, Ayman has been a key member of the leadership team. He first joined as vice president for digital transformation and quickly earned the respect and admiration of all those who worked with him, thanks to his collegiality and deep emphasis on a service-centric approach that places user needs at the core of the operational strategy. Ayman was later promoted to senior vice president, overseeing a wide portfolio that includes procurement, management and operations, human resources and information technology. An AUC alum and seasoned expert with several decades of experience in management in the technology industry in the US, Ayman brought energy and enthusiasm to AUC’s senior leadership team, helping to guide numerous efforts to streamline processes and leapfrog the University’s digital transformation, especially during the pandemic.
During the transition, the areas under the senior vice president including management and operations, human resources and information technology will report to the acting president. Meanwhile, procurement has moved to the finance area, reporting to the chief financial officer.
Please join me in thanking Ayman for this distinguished service at AUC and his many contributions not only to the areas under his purview but to the University as a whole. His passion for AUC, quick sense of humor, and collegiality will be dearly missed.
Sincerely,
Ehab Abdel-Rahman
Acting President and Provost
