Dear AUC Community,

I am writing to inform you that Dr. Daniel Ortiz has, for personal reasons, decided to resign from his position as Dean of Library, effective March 1, 2023. I am in the process of putting together a search committee and we will soon embark on an international search for a new Dean. In the meantime, Ms. Lamia Eid, Associate Dean of Library, has graciously agreed to serve as Interim Dean while the search is ongoing and until an appointment is made.

I would like to take this opportunity to recognize and thank Dr. Ortiz for the many contributions he has made to the AUC Library over the last few years. His hard work and dedication have provided our students and faculty with the resources and services they need to succeed. We are grateful for his service and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

I am confident that Lamia will bring a new level of excellence and dedication to her role as Interim Dean, and I look forward to her leadership in this capacity. 

Please join me in thanking Daniel for his service to AUC, and in giving Lamia your full support and encouragement in her new position.
