He has highlighted the need for productive and innovative interdisciplinary engagement, actively promoting it in a variety of ways, including through workshops and seminars. He has encouraged the faculty to excel in their research and creative endeavors, in their teaching, and in their service to the university and our community. Meloy supports a student-centered approach to teaching, in order to cultivate our students’ intellectual and creative abilities, while holding them to standards of excellence. He has endeavored to enhance recruitment efforts to HUSS disciplines through outreach programs to prospective students.
