Tahrir CultureFest Wrap-Up

After six days of exciting performances, lively tours and thought-provoking panel discussions, the first annual AUC Tahrir CultureFest has come to an end. To all participants, speakers, exhibitors, and everyone who brought this event to life, we thank you for celebrating Downtown Cairo with us in an unparalleled 6-day festival.

The week of activities included a wide range of events and engaging programs including:

The inaugural event was held at AUC Tahrir Square which is a prime downtown destination for conferences, lectures, seminars, and public events. Its exhibition space has become a platform for established artists to showcase their work, while also serving as a hub for local and international theater and contemporary dance performances. Today, Ewart Memorial Hall and Oriental Hall continue to serve as the prime downtown destination for a range of conferences, lectures, seminars, and public events held by the University.

The second edition of the AUC Tahrir CultureFest is from April 10 - 12, 2025 on Tahrir Square campus, celebrating Cairo as a global city — a vibrant mix of cultures that bridges Africa, the Mediterranean and the Arab world. A cultural hub of the global South, Cairo connects heritage, people and history in a dynamic contemporary setting. Click here for more details
