Falaki Mainstage Theater is one of the most important stages in Egypt, beloved by The American University in Cairo's students, alumni, and independent theater producers and practitioners. It is the preferred location for local, regional and international theater and contemporary dance performances, as well as a variety of other events.

The Falaki Mainstage Theater can accommodate up to 228 seats distributed as follows: 28 seats in the balcony and 200 seats in the parterre.

Note: Drinks and food are not allowed in the theater area.

Proscenium Stage Dimensions:

  • 13.60 meters in width
  • 11.90 meters in depth (in proscenium 9.40 cm + extension 2.50 cm)
  • Proscenium height: 6.50 meters
  • Flying system ceiling: 13 meters
  • Stage surface: Black wooden floor

 

Curtain and Drapes:

  • Main green curtain 2 parts - fly-in system
  • 1 green border
  • White cyclorama (15.00 cm width x 7.00 cm height)
  • Black curtain "2 ports" (in total 15.00 cm width * 7.00 cm height) fly-in system
  • 6 "Black" side stage legs - 3 each side
  • 3 black borders
  • Movie screen with frame (size 6,00 cm x 3,80 cm)
  • 4 sided black drapes - 2 each side
