About CAASIC
The Center for Advanced Arabic Study in Cairo (CAASIC) offers an exceptional opportunity for advanced learners of Arabic to enhance their language proficiency and immerse themselves in Arab culture. Our programs are designed for students, professionals, and specialists from around the world who seek rigorous academic instruction in both Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA), as well as content courses related to Arab history, culture, and politics.
CAASIC is overseen by the Department of Arabic Language Instruction (ALI) at The American University in Cairo (AUC), renowned for its excellence in Arabic language education. The Center offers several program options, including the prestigious CASA@AUC fellowship, which provides full merit-based scholarships for a select number of students each year. Additionally, CAASIC welcomes highly qualified learners who can pay their own way (PYOW) to participate in our programs.
For those looking for shorter academic experiences, CAASIC also offers short-term programs designed to accommodate students and professionals who may have limited time but still want to benefit from advanced Arabic instruction. These programs provide the same level of immersion and language development over a more condensed period.
CAASIC is also home to the CAASIC/Fulbright program, a specialized track for U.S. citizens, offering advanced-level coursework in Arabic language, research, and cultural studies.
Whether you are an academic, a professional needing Arabic for your career, or a specialist looking to engage deeply with the language and culture of the Arab world, CAASIC provides a rich, immersive learning experience in the heart of Cairo.
