Program Overview
The Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (M.A. TESOL) program prepares superior teachers of English as a second language. Our program offers cutting-edge approaches, methodologies and pedagogical knowledge to advance an English teaching career. Since its inception in 1966, the MA TESOL program has been serving AUC, Egypt, and the Middle East at large through educating qualified language professionals who can competently work in different instructional settings across the world. Historically, we have had a diverse group of students from both native and non-native English-speaking countries.
The program offers opportunities to observe and engage in language teaching. The program aims to develop leadership skills, create teachers and administrators who are lifelong learners, and encourage student participation in research-based inquiry to advance new knowledge in the discipline.

Students wishing to pursue the MA program in TESOL should meet the minimum academic, language and admission requirements set by AUC.

Graduates from AUC's MA in TESOL teach and direct programs in Egypt, the Arab world, the United States and many other countries. They present in both regional and international conferences, where they exchange knowledge and widen their scholarly network. They also pursue doctoral studies in top national and international universities and are prominent authors in TESOL and applied linguistics.
