The Mobile App Inventor uses the powerful MIT App Inventor platform to teach you to develop your own mobile app. Whether you are a beginner or have some coding experience, this bootcamp will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to design and build your own mobile applications.
Starting off the bootcamp, you will learn the fundamentals of app development, exploring the App Inventor interface and its features. As you progress you will gain proficiency in the following skills, through hands-on projects and exercises:

  • Designing user interfaces

  • Creating interactive components

  • Programming app functionalities

  • Delving deeper into data handling, multimedia integration, and device sensors. 

  • Learning to incorporate databases, images, and sound into your apps, making them more engaging and dynamic.


Throughout the bootcamp, you will have the opportunity to unleash your creativity and innovation. You will be able to simulate the whole mobile app design and development process, by delving into the industry, learning about its career opportunities, benchmarking with global apps, brainstorming ideas, designing intuitive user experiences, and developing unique features that set your apps apart. You will learn how to test your apps and collect feedback for improvement, finally allowing you to work on real startup projects for potential business ideas.
Through fostering problem-solving and critical thinking skills. By the end of the bootcamp, you will be able to develop fully functional mobile applications.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the basic principles of app development and be able to create functional and interactive apps.

  • Develop skills in designing user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces for mobile applications. 

  • Understand the importance of layout, color schemes, and interactive elements in creating an engaging user experience.

  • Understand different data handling techniques such as variables, lists, and databases, and be able to retrieve, update, and manipulate data to enhance app functionality.

  • Identify and resolve issues in mobile applications.

  • Learn strategies for debugging code, testing app functionality, and addressing common programming errors.

  • Learn how to divide tasks, share responsibilities, and work together towards a common goal.

Duration and Location

  • One Week: July 28 – August 1, 2024
  • Sessions will run daily from 9 am to 3 pm
  • AUC New Cairo campus
  • Fridays and Saturdays off
  • AUC holidays will be compensated for with extra hours

Fees

  • EGP 3,700 (price including materials needed)
  • The following discounts are offered:
    • 10% discount for siblings
    • 10% discount for AUC faculty and staff
    • 15% discount for AUC Alumni

Who Can Apply?

Students ages 12 to 16.

Certification

All the bootcamp participants will receive a certificate of participation from AUC.

Transportation 

The AUC bus service is available for extra fees. Details on the schedule will be shared before the program's start date.

Note that only vaccinated students are allowed to use the bus service.

Accommodation 

Accommodation is offered at the University Residences.

About the Instructor

Yasser Tawfik

With over 15 years of experience in STEM education as being an instructor and curriculum developer to a mentor and entrepreneur. Tawfik's expertise spans a wide array of topics including robotics, game design, electronics, programming, and more.

AUC Refund Policy

A 100% refund of the program fees will be offered in the following cases. Cases should be reported at least three weeks before the program's start date.
