Food For Health
This course serves as a multidisciplinary introduction to nutritional literacy, designed to empower the younger generation with a deep understanding of the importance of maintaining a healthy, balanced diet. In a world where diet-related illnesses such as obesity, type II diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases have become widespread public health challenges, this course addresses the urgent need for greater awareness and action.
Students will explore the underlying factors contributing to the global rise of these preventable conditions, including the increased reliance on processed foods and the cultural shift away from home-cooked meals. Through engaging discussions, hands-on activities, and practical demonstrations, participants will learn to critically evaluate food choices, understand the nutritional value of various foods, and distinguish between options that support long-term health versus those that may contribute to chronic illness.
By the end of the course, students will be equipped not only with theoretical knowledge about nutrition but also with practical skills to identify, select, and prepare wholesome meals. This course aims to inspire a lifetime of healthier eating habits, enabling students to take proactive steps in safeguarding their well-being and becoming advocates for better dietary practices in their communities.
