Brief Biography

Elizabeth Day is the Assistant University Archivist for Records Management at The American University in Cairo (AUC), focusing on the information management of the university’s physical and digital records as well as supporting the Rare Books and Special Collections Library’s archival collections. After obtaining a BA in International Affairs and Religious Studies from Northeastern University - focusing on the Middle East and Abrahamic faith traditions - she went on to work in the volunteer management and education sectors in the United States, Panama, France and Morocco.

Day moved to Canada for a career change, receiving her Master's in Archival Studies from the University of British Columbia with a focus on records management, government and public records, and archival ethics. Day then went on to work as a project archivist for individuals and smaller organizations processing personal and institutional records. Prior to joining AUC, Day worked at a non-profit in Vancouver, Canada, focused on open access and privacy rights in public records.
