Yara El Masry is an instructor of rhetoric and composition at The American University in Cairo and has been part of the department since 2005. El Masry received her PhD in literature, film, and theatre studies in 2016 from the University of Essex, United Kingdom, where she wrote a thesis titled: “Political Violence in the Middle Eastern Novel (2001-2010)."
