AUC Tahrir Square Faculty Lounge
The Faculty Lounge at AUC Tahrir Square, located in room 108 of the historic palace, was renovated and inaugurated during the AUC Tahrir CultureFest in April 2024. AUC's facilities team carried out the renovation work by utilizing recycled furniture from across the University, reflecting a sustainable approach.
The reopening of the lounge addressed a growing demand from faculty members seeking a dedicated space on campus. Open on weekdays from 9 am to 6 pm, the lounge offers WiFi access and is conveniently adjacent to L'Aroma Gourmet Coffee, where faculty can enjoy beverages and light snacks.
Faculty Lounge Library
A collection of fiction and non-fiction books written in or translated into English is available in the faculty lounge for faculty members' use. These books are mostly faculty lounge library sub-committee recommendations and award-winning titles. A small collection of Arabic authors translated into English is shelved separately. Donated books from faculty members are also accepted. To access the regularly updated list of titles, check the library at the faculty lounge.
A maximum of two books may be borrowed for up to one month only. There are check-out cards on the front cover of each book. The library is run on the honor system, and each borrower is responsible for checking books in and out and for following the borrowing procedure.
