Campus Conversation: Fall Semester and COVID19 Updates

Last week's Campus Conversation covered everything you need to know about the return to campus and the status of COVID-19 nationwide. You can watch the full conversation here. Here are some key takeaways: 

• Those who are not vaccinated will be required to take weekly antigen tests at their own expense until they receive a vaccine. 

• The Ministry of Health started vaccinating on campus on August 19 and will be on campus for a limited time this week. You can register through the MOH website and then through the AUC registration form. You will receive an email from the University to confirm your slot in the coming days. 

• The COVID-19 Delta Variant is affecting the whole world, and Egypt is likely to go through a fourth wave in the coming months.

• Everyone, vaccinated or not, will still be required to do the daily self check when entering campus.

• -Staff can find all information regarding the remote work policy on the HR website. There will be HR Q&A awareness sessions for staff starting August 29.

• Only vaccinated people can ride AUC buses. Even if you are under 18 or have a vaccination exemption, you will not be able to access the buses, but Swvl is offering discounted rides for AUCians.

• The deadline to submit your proof of vaccination (first dose) or medical exemption is September 1 to allow enough time for validation before classes start on September 5. 

• Your vaccine is accepted even if you took it abroad. 

• The number of people allowed inside of the AUC Library will be limited, and the library will return to normal operating hours.
