On-Campus Residences Welcome New, Returning Students
As AUC starts its countdown to the start of the Fall 2021 semester – fully face to face – the on-campus residences are opening their doors to students. As new and returning students move in to the dorms, they reflect on what they look forward to the most and what they miss about being back to campus.
Dalia Farag
Senior
"As a senior, I first joined the dorms as a freshman. We had our own 'dorms vibes' especially during midterms. Even studying was fun because of the groups and how we'd all study together. It truly felt like 'we're in this together'. It was a huge part of my AUC experience, and coming back here now as a senior is a full-circle moment for me."
Youssef Hany
Junior
"It feels weird coming back after we've gotten used to online learning. I feel like we need to learn how to socialize again. But it's exciting. I no longer mind waking up at 8:30 am for classes because I miss AUC, and that's what matters."
Amany Walid
Freshman
"I'm excited to join AUC. I hope it's among the best times of my life, as I've always been hearing from everyone. Now that I'll be living alone without my family, I'm looking forward to making a new family here."
Omar Tawfik
Senior
"During the COVID-19 phase, I had to move to the off-campus residences for safety purposes. Before that, I had been residing at the on-campus residents since I was a freshman, and now that I'm back, I realize that I missed the Commons area the most."
