AUC First University in Egypt to Offer GMAT Testing

AUC’s Engineering and Science Services (ESS) is now one of only two locations in Egypt where business school applicants may take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), a prerequisite for most Master of Business Administration programs worldwide.

“The opening of the Pearson VUE authorized testing center at AUC New Cairo makes AUC the only University in Egypt and one of the few places in the Middle East to have such center,” said Mahmoud Farag, director of ESS. “We can now broaden our services to the community to include preparation courses and international online exams, such as GMAT and professional U.S. engineering licensure."

The ESS staff members worked for six months to secure the deal with Pearson VUE, which will make it easier for Egyptian students to apply to business school, whether at AUC or abroad. “MBA applicants have been facing problems lately in finding slots for the GMAT before our admission deadlines,” affirmed Rabab Abuel Fetouh, MBA program manager at AUC’s School of Business. “Being able to take the GMAT on campus provides the opportunity for many of them to sit for the exam in time to meet our application deadlines. This will definitely affect our enrollment rate positively.”
