Student Union Sustainability Fair: 'Start of a Path of Conscious Consumption'
AUC’s Student Union is hosting a Sustainability Fair on Wednesday, November 27, aiming to shed light on ways in which students can be more sustainable, and decrease their waste and plastic consumption. The fair will include a variety of startups and businesses that encourage sustainability and initiate sustainable practices, such as Urban Earthlings, Mashtal and Bubblz.
The event aims to drive businesses and individuals to lead a more sustainable life, beyond the boundaries of the fair.
“We’ve been working really hard for the fair, and I believe it’s going to have a positive impact on the vendors coming into the event and the AUC community alike. I hope the Sustainability Fair is only the start of a path of conscious consumption for many,” said Nour Barakat, student social responsibility associate general manager at the Student Union.
Echoing the same sentiment, Ziad Sorour, student social responsibility general manager at the Student Union, said, “As part of the Student Union's continuous efforts, we took a step to encourage the student body to be more active when it comes to sustainability, as well as to help these startups find their way into the AUC community."
