Aging in the Arab countries: Realizing the Potentials of the Second Demographic Dividend
Around the celebrations of the international day of older persons 2021, a webinar was held on November 21, to discuss the adherence of the Arab countries to broad policy frameworks for harnessing the potentials of their greying generations. The webinar hosted many participants, panels, presentations, and discussions.
Participants included H.E Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General, Head of Social Affairs Sector, League of Arab States, Karina Nersesyan, Regional Deputy Director, UNFPA/ASRO, Justin Derbyshire, Chief Executive, HelpAge International as well as H.E Nivine El Kabbag, Minister of the Egyptian Social Solidarity and Ministry of Social Solidarity, as well as consultants from HelpAge International, advisors from UNFPA ASRO, advisors from The League of Arab States (LAS) and the American University in Cairo.
