University Centers for Career Development Fourth Annual Networking Event

University Centers for Career Development (UCCD) held its Fourth Annual Networking Event “The Way Forward'' on May 7-9, 2023. 100+ UCCD staff from 22 centers in 15 Egyptian public universities from Alexandria to Aswan gathered to envision the future of career education and plan for it in a three-day networking event.

H.E. Ayman Ashour, minister of higher education and scientific research attended the opening ceremony and commented on the findings and recommendations presented by the staff together with Ahmad Dallal, President of the The American University in Cairo. Mr. Wick Powers, director of the Office of Education and Health at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Egypt, Mohamed Hamza, AUC Counselor, Maha Fakhry Moussa, UCCD Chief of Party and Ayman Farid, assistant minister of higher education and scientific research for strategic planning, training and qualification for the labor market. The three days were full of intense strategic discussions, planning, and team-building activities. Ashour listened to the results of the various workshops and the recommendations of the work teams, which dealt with the continuity and sustainability of the centers, the integration and participation of employers, the on-campus marketing of career development services and the integration of labor market information in career guidance.
