Turnitin Support
All AUC faculty are required to receive training (via CLT) on the use of Turnitin before using their accounts. CLT also provides faculty support via one-on-one consultations related to the pedagogical use of Turnitin in the classroom. Click here to request Turnitin account or support

Turnitin Login Link
To enhance account security, you are now able to login to Turnitin via Single Sign-On (SSO). Use this link to access your Turnitin account using your AUC credentials.
- If you already have a Turnitin account and you are logged in to your AUC account, the link will automatically take you to your Turnitin homepage
- If you already have a Turnitin account and you are not logged in to your AUC account, you will be prompted to enter your AUC credentials to access your Turnitin account.
Turnitin Services - Update
As of January 1, 2025, Turnitin's contract with Global Education and Talent Solutions and the e-Rater grammar service will be terminated; you will no longer be able to use e-Rater. For grammar support, we recommend using Draft Coach's grammar guide to assist students with developing their writing skills.
Account Security
- Do not share your account login information with anyone, including your Teaching Assistant or Research Assistant. Now that your login to Turnitin is with your AUC credentials; sharing them with anyone would give them access to your email, Canvas, E.repertoire, Banner and other highly sensitive data connected to your AUC Account.
- Notify CLT as soon as you receive an email from Turnitin that your Turnitin password has been changed (unless you requested it), or if you are unable to login to your Turnitin account for any reason. Do not click on any links in the email. Not reporting that could result in serious access-related problems and security breaches for Turnitin users at AUC.
Using Turnitin AI detector:
Effective January 1, 2024, AI writing detection tool is no longer available via the AUC TurnItIn license. CLT and other sources have concluded that the Turnitin AI detector (as well as other AI detectors) remains unreliable and its output cannot be considered clear-cut evidence of the use of AI in a student paper or lack thereof. AI detectors are likely to stay unreliable in the near future since they cannot accurately determine if a student has in fact used AI tools to generate work and can produce false positives, false negatives, and incorrect percentages in many cases.
Note that CLT team is continuously testing AI detection tools, so look out for CLT Turnitin announcement emails and read them carefully, for updates!
Who should have access to Turnitin?
Only instructors who are currently teaching undergraduate and graduate classes at AUC are allowed to use Turnitin to check the submissions of current AUC students. It is important to review this document on AUC’s policy regarding using Turnitin in the classroom.
How does paper deletion on Turnitin work?
Review this document to explore your options regarding paper deletion on Turnitin and to know what to do if a student submits a wrong assignment or uploads to a wrong class on Turnitin.
Important For Teaching Assistants:
Turnitin doesn't support the regular definition of TA accounts that grant teaching assistants a specific level of access to the instructor's course. This includes undergraduate, graduate and hired TAs.
For AUC, Turnitin TA accounts are only created for instructors who are teaching sections of the same class that is managed by one faculty coordinator. An example of this are multi-section courses where students in all sections will have similar assignment prompts and deadlines.
Important For Students:
If you are unable to join Turnitin, make sure that you are signing up at Turnitin.com, not turnitinuk.com.
Also, do not copy and paste the class ID or enrollment key information (this should be provided by your professor or thesis supervisor), instead type them manually to avoid adding any extra spaces by mistake.
If you have an account that you are unable to log into, do not sign in using google accounts since that method does not work, input your email and password manually.
If that does not work, try to reset your Turnitin account password.
