Donor-Funded Scholarships for Prospective Students - Fall 2025

Thanks to the generosity of our donors. The American University in Cairo (AUC) offers scholarship opportunities supported by individuals and corporations. These remarkable awards from donors have allowed AUC to recruit and educate outstanding and eligible students from different cities and educational backgrounds.

Abulhadi H. Taher Endowed Scholarships

This scholarship was established in 2018 to support Egyptian and/or Saudi Arabian students who demonstrate financial need and outstanding academic performance.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Egyptian and/or Saudi Arabian
High school graduate in academic year 2024 - 2025 or a transfer student with no more than one year at their current university
Demonstrate high academic achievement
Meet AUC's admission requirements
Demonstrates financial need
Must pass either the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum band score of 6 and writing score of 6 or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum total score of 76 and writing score of 20 or the Duolingo test with a minimum score of 125.

Scholarship Coverage

Full tuition and fees
Monthly stipend during the fall and spring semesters
Housing in a double room at the AUC student residences (for students who are not from Cairo or Giza)

AUC Alumni Endowed Scholarships

This scholarship was established in 1983 to partially support Egyptian and Arab children of AUC alumni. Selection is based on the student's academic merit and financial need.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Egyptian or Arab
One of the parents should be an alumnus/a of AUC
High school graduate in academic year 2024 - 2025 or a transfer student with no more than one year at their current university
Demonstrate high academic achievement
Meet AUC's admission requirements
Demonstrate financial need.
Must pass either the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)with a minimum band score of 6 and writing score of 6 or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum total score of 76 and writing score of 20 or the Duolingo test with a minimum score of 125

Hayel Saeed Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1994 to fully support Yemeni undergraduate students who meet the University requirements for admission.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Yemeni
Completed a full-time high school in Yemen
Demonstrate high academic achievement.
Meet AUC's admission requirements
Demonstrate financial need.
Must pass either the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum band score of 6 and writing score of 6 or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum total score of 76 and writing score of 20 or the Duolingo test with a minimum score of 125.

Lockheed Martin Public School Scholarship

The Lockheed Martin Public School Scholarship was established in 2014 to support one undergraduate student annually for up to five years of study in the School of Sciences and Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Egyptian
Egyptian public high school graduate in academic year 2024 - 2025
Declare one of the science or engineering majors
Demonstrate high academic achievement
Meet AUC's admission requirements
Demonstrate financial need
Must pass either the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)with a minimum band score of 6 and writing score of 6 or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum total score of 76 and writing score of 20 or the Duolingo test with a minimum score of 125

Mohammed Bin Abdulkarim A. Allehedan Endowed Scholarship and Scientific Research Fund

(One available slot in Fall 2025 for an Arab non-Egyptian)

This fund was established in 2015 to fully support bright young Arab students who are seeking undergraduate degrees in any of the Science and Engineering majors at AUC but do not have the financial means to cover its cost.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Arab or Egyptian
Submitted an undergraduate admission application and is accepted in one of the programs in the School of Sciences and Engineering
High school graduate in academic year 2024 - 2025
Demonstrate high academic achievement
Meet AUC's admission requirements
Demonstrate financial need
Must pass either the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)with a minimum band score of 6 and writing score of 6 or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum total score of 76 and writing score of 20 or the Duolingo test with a minimum score of 125.

The Kerr Family Scholarship was established in 2024 to partially support an undergraduate student from entry to AUC through graduation.

This scholarship was established in 2015 to fully support Egyptian students who come from the far corners of Egypt.

Nationality: Egyptian from distant governorates

Demonstrate high academic achievement

Demonstrate financial need

The Sudanese Undergraduate Scholarship was established in 2024 to support a new undergraduate Sudanese student.

Nationality: Sudanese (preferably from North Sudan)
