Yasmine Eissa

Brief Biography

Yasmine Eissa ’05, ‘09 is an assistant professor of economics specializing in international trade. She has teaching experience at different universities at the undergraduate and post graduate levels. At the undergraduate level, she teaches international trade and econometrics. At the graduate level, she taught advanced international trade at the joint masters in development program between Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and Cairo University. Her research interests are at the intersection of global value chains, innovation, and labor markets. Her studies focus on emerging regions and are published in refereed journals on international trade. She received multiple recognitions on her work, including the Ibn Khaldun prize award 2023 and the EMANES 2023 best paper award. At present, she is working on global value chains and female employment in the Middle East and North Africa jointly with the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS).
