For the second year in a row, the Center of Excellence for Water at The American University in Cairo (AUC) is participating in Cairo Water Week (CWW) 2020, one of the most significant water-related events at the national, regional and international levels, organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.
The Center for Applied Research on the Environment and Sustainability (CARES) at AUC, in collaboration with Egyptian and European universities, as well as local public and private entities — is working on a three-year project, DeVilag, to support the Egyptian rural community.
A multidisciplinary team of students at AUC recently came in second place in the Public Inspiration Award category at the international SensUs 2020 Competition, held virtually by the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands.

The Center of Excellence for Water at AUC is offering scholarships for public university engineering students to study water engineering at Ain Shams and Alexandria universities.
