Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA)

The Department of English Language Instruction of The American University in Cairo, Academy of Liberal Arts is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) for the period August 2015 through August 2025 and agrees to uphold the CEA Standards for English Language Programs and Institutions. The Commission accredits the Department of English Language Instruction (ELI) on English Language Program Accreditation, which is based in Washington, DC and recognized by the US Department of Education. For detailed information on these standards, click here.

Students, faculty, or staff members, as well as others outside the ELI who believe they know a failure by our program or institution to maintain the standards, may file a complaint with CEA.
