Music - Minors
Program Overview
AUC’s broad-based liberal arts education allows you to diversify your learning with a minor or two — helping you develop skills complementary to your primary area of study and demonstrating to potential employers that you have range.
The music minor offers a comprehensive and inclusive musical education for students who want to learn the theory, literature and performance of music. With a focus on both Western and Arab music, you can develop fundamental listening and sight-reading skills, learn to read music, and explore the basic principles of music theory. By studying representative great works of music literature and composers, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for music and acquire problem-solving skills. Additionally, you can make substantial progress in learning to sing or play an instrument, and advanced students may even have the opportunity to present part of a solo recital with their teacher's permission.
