Teaching Assistants and Graduate Students Professional Development Program (TAGS)
The Teaching Assistants and Graduate Students (TAGS) Professional Development Program is a collaboration between the Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT) and the Office of the Dean of Graduate Studies which aims to provide professional development opportunities for AUC teaching assistants and graduate students. This program includes mandatory sessions for Teaching Assistant Professional Development (TAPD) and other optional professional development workshops.
Teaching Assistant Professional Development Courses (required)
The Teaching Assistants Professional Development (TAPD) program is designed to prepare teaching assistants for their role and assigned duties at AUC and offers them opportunities for their own professional development. All teaching assistants are required to complete and pass the online course before the announced deadline every semester.
Teaching Assistants and Graduate Students (TAGS) Tracks (optional)
Academic Growth Track
This track focuses on providing participants interested in pursuing a career in teaching with the necessary knowledge and skills. It includes topics such as effective teaching strategies, learning technologies, creative assessments, active learning, and artificial Intelligence. All TAGS sessions are offered as online synchronous sessions and are announced through the graduate student portal.
Professional Growth Track
This track introduces participants to topics and skills that will allow them to adapt to the dynamic job market. The track includes topics such as leadership skills, conflict resolution management, exploring group dynamics, creative thinking, and problem solving, as well as agility in the workplace.
